This course gives you a solid introduction to internationally recognised software testing principles and practices through the ISTQB® Foundation level certification. In this course you will learn key concepts in software testing that are essential for all testing professionals, from terminology and test design to processes and lifecycle management. You get a mix of theory, exercises and mock exams to prepare you for the official ISTQB® Foundation exam, which is included in the course.

You will explore what testing is, why testing is important, and how it fits into the software development lifecycle. This includes understanding basic test principles and how they contribute to quality.
Testing throughout the lifecycle
The course covers how testing activities are integrated throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements through to maintenance, and how testing supports successful delivery.
Static testing techniques
You will learn techniques for analysing documents and artefacts without executing code, such as reviews and walkthroughs. These methods help find defects early and improve quality.
Test design techniques
The training introduces both black-box and white-box test design techniques, so you can systematically create effective test cases based on specifications and structure.
Managing test activities
You will understand how testing is planned, monitored and controlled, including roles, responsibilities and estimation of testing effort.
Testing tools
The course also gives an overview of tools that support testing activities, including automated and supportive test tools, and when to use them.
