This course provides students with the fundamental knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to configure, manage, and monitor an existing Quantum Security Environment. Students will learn how to access and navigate the Gaia Portal and the Gaia Command Line Interface, manage Administrator access, create and configure Network Objects, create new Security Policies, configure Ordered Layers and a Shared Inline Layer, elevate the traffic view and monitor system states, configure Identity Awareness, elevate security with HTTPS Inspection, configure Application Control and URL Filtering, and configure Autonomous Threat Prevention.
After completing this course, participants will be able to configure, manage, and troubleshoot core Check Point security components.
No prior Check Point certification is required.

Thomas Norbeck er uten tvil Norges ledende instruktør på opplæring innen Check Points produkter, og gjennomfører både sertifiseringskurs og bedriftsintern kurs på Check Point versjoner og produkter.
Thomas sin nøkkelkompetanse ligger innen Check Point spesielt, men også nettverksteknologi og sikkerhet generelt. I tillegg har han vært involvert i flere IT- og infrastruktur-prosjekter både som teknisk ressurs og som prosjektleder. I ulike perioder har Thomas jobbet som konsulent parallelt med at han har opparbeidet lang erfaring med utvikling, tilpasning og gjennomføring av skreddersydde kurs for bedrifter innen ulike sektorer. Blant annet har han laget og gjennomført nettverkskurs på fire ulike kontinenter.
Thomas Norbeck har 24 års erfaring med nettverk og sikkerhet både som instruktør og konsulent hos bl.a Azlan, A-Team, Ajourit og Curriculum før han begynte i Glasspaper i 2004. Han jobber i dag som Senior konsulent og instruktør for Glasspaper, samt at han er IT sjef og konsulentleder.

Check Point architecture and components
The course begins with an overview of Check Point product architecture, the Security Management Server, Security Gateways, and the Gaia operating system.
Gaia OS and CLI navigation
Participants learn how to navigate the Gaia operating system, use the command-line interface (CLI), and understand basic system administration tasks.
Security policy creation and rule base
This section covers how to design, create, and manage security policies using SmartConsole, including rule base fundamentals and best practices.
Network Address Translation (NAT)
Participants learn how to configure and manage NAT rules, including static and dynamic NAT.
User authentication and remote access
This section explores user authentication methods, including LDAP integration, SmartConsole access control, and VPN basics.
Monitoring and logs
Participants learn how to use logs, event monitoring tools, and SmartView Tracker to identify and resolve issues.
Basic troubleshooting and maintenance
The course concludes with basic troubleshooting techniques, system maintenance, backup and restore procedures, and common operational tasks.

This course prepares participants for the Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) exam (156-215.77).
CCSA certification validates foundational skills in Check Point security administration and is a stepping stone for more advanced Check Point certifications.

What prior experience do I need to attend this course?
Basic networking knowledge and familiarity with TCP/IP concepts are recommended but not mandatory.

Yes. The course includes practical lab exercises to reinforce real-world configuration and troubleshooting.
