The ISO 14001 Lead Auditor training course provides participants with the necessary competencies to plan, conduct, and close an environmental management system (EMS) audit in accordance with ISO 14001. The course integrates the requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1, the guidelines of ISO 19011, and widely recognized auditing best practices.
Organizations are increasingly required to demonstrate environmental responsibility and compliance with international standards. ISO 14001 establishes the framework for effective environmental management systems, helping organizations manage environmental responsibilities systematically.
This course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical auditing skills. Through examples, exercises, and case-based discussions, participants learn how to interpret ISO 14001 requirements from an auditor’s perspective, collect and verify evidence, lead audit teams, draft nonconformity reports, and prepare final audit reports.

The course begins with an overview of objectives and structure, relevant standards and regulatory frameworks, and the ISO 14001 certification process. Participants explore the fundamental concepts and principles of environmental management and gain an overview of ISO 14001 requirements.
Participants examine fundamental audit concepts and principles, including evidence-based and risk-based auditing. The day covers initiation of the audit process and the stage 1 audit.
This day focuses on preparing for stage 2 audits, conducting stage 2 audits, communication during the audit, audit procedures, and creating audit test plans.
Participants learn how to draft audit findings and nonconformity reports, conduct documentation and quality reviews, close audits, evaluate corrective action plans, manage internal audit programs, and conclude the training.
Certification examination.
After successfully completing the exam, you can apply for one of the credentials shown on the table below. You will receive a certificate as soon as you fulfill all the requirements related to the selected credential.
