Agentic AI Foundations

In this course, you’ll explore the core principles and strategies for designing agentic AI systems using AWS services. You’ll learn how agentic AI differs from traditional conversational systems and how to design autonomous, goal-driven solutions that solve real-world problems.

The course introduces key concepts behind agentic AI and shows how AWS services and development frameworks can be used to build and operate agent-based systems. You will work with tools such as Amazon Q Developer, Amazon Quick Suite, Kiro, Strands Agents SDK, and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to understand how agentic AI systems are designed, implemented, and observed in practice.

This module covers the limitations of large language models, the innovations that enable agentic behaviour, and the evolution from LLM-based solutions to agentic AI systems.

Exploring Agentic AI

You gain an understanding of what agentic AI is, the different types of AI agents, and common application areas where agentic systems are used.

Understanding Agentic AI Workflows

The module introduces workflow patterns used in agentic AI systems and provides an overview of Amazon Bedrock flows.

AWS Agentic Development and Productivity Tools

You explore AWS agentic AI solutions and development tools, including Amazon Quick Suite and Amazon Q Developer. The module includes a hands-on lab focused on accelerating software development using Amazon Q Developer, as well as an introduction to Kiro, an AI-powered IDE with spec-driven development.

Implementing Agentic AI Frameworks with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore

This module introduces agentic AI frameworks and includes a hands-on lab for getting started with Strands Agents. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is also covered.

Building Custom Solutions

You learn how to customise agentic infrastructure, work with observability and monitoring, and enable interoperability between agents.

Course wrap-up

The course concludes with next steps, additional resources, and a summary of key concepts.
